Letter From the Director

Hello, music families!

My name is Branda Guédet, and I am delighted to welcome you to Preston Harmony School of Music. Whether you are already part of our school community or exploring music lessons for the first time, thank you for visiting our website and I look forward to seeing you at the many musical events we host throughout the year.

My career in Dallas began in 2009 when I joined Gray School of Music as piano and violin faculty. Over the past 16 years, I have worked with numerous students and families, and I am amazed by the talent and dedication that I have witnessed.

For more than a decade, I also worked as Mrs. Gray’s helper, assisting her with the management aspect of the school. When it was time for her to retire, we decided together that our school must continue and she entrusted me with the responsibility of leading the school's next chapter.

One of the biggest factors that supported my decision to take on the role as the new owner and director of the school is the faculty, which, in my opinion, is the greatest asset of our school. I view them as the core of this school who will undoubtedly cultivate many musical talents and make music learning a rewarding experience for our students. I take great pride in the quality of the faculty that we have assembled and I make it my top priority that our team continues to thrive under my management.

The music lesson business is unlike any traditional business when it comes to client relationships. I believe I can speak for our teachers in that to us, a student is never a ‘customer,’ but a cherished individual taking the steps to discover the joy of music. Our teachers understand that this bond is what makes the learning experience truly special, much like the music itself. We are committed to this relationship and fostering a love for music in every lesson.

To our current music families, I sincerely thank you for your support of music education. Parents, you are giving your children a lifelong gift that will enhance their future endeavors. To our adult learners, I applaud your dedication to the pursuit of musical enrichment. Your passion and effort are truly inspiring.

One of the greatest compliments we receive is hearing from former students who return years later to enroll their own children. Few schools have the privilege of teaching multiple generations of the same family, and it is an honor we deeply cherish.

As Preston Harmony School of Music, we are proud to carry forward the legacy established by Gray School of Music while continuing to build a future rooted in excellence, community, and a lifelong love of music.

Cheers to another 20 years!

Musically yours,

Branda Guédet
