Student Music Events
Our students enjoy more than just weekly lessons. Throughout the year, we offer recitals, themed events, festivals, and performance opportunities that help students build confidence, celebrate progress, and share their music with family and friends. These experiences encourage growth both on and off the stage while making music education engaging, rewarding, and memorable.

Most student events are included with tuition at no additional cost. Festivals require participation fees to cover guest judges, and specialized music exams require separate exam fees.
Festivals

Music festivals are held during the Fall (November) and Spring (April) semesters. These festivals give students the opportunity to perform for a friendly judge who provides encouraging feedback and musical evaluation. Students accumulate points through participation and achievement, and many earn trophies recognizing their hard work and progress.

Recitals

Our Fall and Spring Recitals, held each December and May, offer students a relaxed and encouraging opportunity to perform for family and friends. Designed to be a low-pressure experience, these performances help students become more comfortable on stage while showcasing the music they have been working on throughout the semester. Students of all ages and levels are welcome to participate and celebrate their progress together.
Preston Harmony Showcase Recital

Our special Showcase Recital features selected students of all ages, instruments, and studios across our school. Representing a variety of teachers and musical backgrounds, these performers are chosen for their outstanding preparation, dedication, and artistry. This featured event gives audiences the opportunity to enjoy a diverse and inspiring program showcasing the talent within our music community.
Themed Recitals

Our themed recitals add a fun and creative twist to student performances throughout the year. Past events have included a Halloween Costume Recital and a Valentine’s Day Duet Recital, giving students of all ages and instruments the opportunity to perform in unique and memorable programs while sharing music with family and friends.
Music Examination Program
Students who wish to pursue nationally and internationally recognized music examinations may prepare for them with participating instructors. Preston Harmony supports select examination programs, including Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA) theory tests, Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) practical and theory exams, and The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) certificate programs. These programs provide an opportunity to earn recognized credentials while tracking musical progress through a well-established curriculum.

Many of our students have successfully completed these examinations. If you are interested in one of these programs, contact us to learn more about exam preparation and instructor availability.
