Biography
Music is about more than just getting the notes right, it’s about developing the skills and confidence to express what you’re playing. And as an educator, Maren hopes to teach this to her students whether they play for a lifetime or a year.
Maren Flechsig is a native-born Texan and holds degrees from both UT Arlington and two graduate degrees from Southern Methodist University. She is a dedicated educator who has been teaching students ranging in age from 5-45 since 2020. She specializes in audition prep and has helped her students achieve All-Region recognition year after year. She also regularly subs to teach sectionals for the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra (DAAYO) and loves sharing her orchestral knowledge and experience with her students.
She is a professional violinst and has performed at the Meyerson Symphony Center on several occasions and also regularly performs with local orchestras including Plano Symphony, Irving Symphony, and Sherman Symphony. Her performances have also taken her on national tours with classical and pops groups alike.
Whether preparing for an audition or just looking to enjoy music while strengthening skills, Maren combines both professional experience with personalized instruction to help each student grow and appreciate music.
