Summer Lessons
Keep up the momentum during the summer with regular music lessons. Summer is the perfect time for students to strengthen their skills, work ahead, and prepare for the upcoming school year.
Traveling? No problem. Our summer schedule is designed with added flexibility to accommodate vacations, camps, and other summer activities.

Students will schedule 8 lessons across 11 available summer weeks. This allows you and your teacher to skip up to 3 weeks while still completing the full number of lessons included in your summer tuition.

Summer Session FAQ
​When is the Summer term at Preston Harmony School of Music?
June 1 through August 16, 2026. A total of 11 lesson weeks.

How many lessons do I get for the summer?
8 lessons.
​
Can I have more than 8 lessons?
Certainly! In fact, the 9th lesson onward will be billed with a 5% discount.

What if I have to miss some lessons?
Since you have 11 weeks to complete 8 lessons, you and your teacher can skip up to 3 weeks and still have enough lessons.

What if I will be missing more than 3 weeks?
Two options:
(1) The hour equivalent method. You can extend some lessons to meet the equivalent of hours. You can even attend lessons twice a week when you are available. For example, two 45-minute lessons equal three 30-minute lessons. Or, if you attend lessons twice a week, you will complete all 8 lessons in 4 weeks.
(2) Substitute lessons. Ever thought about trying a different instrument? You can this summer! For example, a piano student can take 5 piano lessons and 3 guitar lessons to complete the 8 sessions. Let us know and we can help.

I want to take some summer lessons but I simply will not have enough weeks in town. What are my options?
If neither option above is feasible, you can try the Flexible Lesson Package option. Get only one lesson package (4 lessons) for the entire summer, and schedule it when you are available to attend. Flex Packages are priced higher than regular month rates, but it releases you from the weekly schedule.

How does summer billing work?
The 8 lessons will be charged in two installments on June 1 and July 1.
​
I will be gone for 2 weeks in June, why am I still billed for June?
The June 1 bill covers summer lessons 1-4, not the month of June. Similarly, the July 1 bill covers lessons 5-8, not the month of July. If you will be gone for a few weeks, this means you might be paying for some lessons in advance. Likewise, if you will be gone later in the summer, you might be taking some lessons before you pay for them. We are billing the lessons as installments, not for the month.

​I would like to take the summer off and resume in the Fall. What do I need to do?
To be removed completely from billing and schedule, contact us to file a Withdrawal Notice. Please note that withdrawing from lessons, even temporarily for the summer, forfeits your current lesson schedule and potentially your current teacher. When returning in the Fall, your lesson schedule and possibly teacher will be subject to availability.
