Daria Oleinik was born in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in 1998. She began studying violin at the age of five at a Children Music School. In 2004, she won second prize at the children art festival "Debyut" in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2005, she continued her studies at the Kyiv Lysenko State Music Lyceum with Tatiana Snizhna. In 2012, she moved back to Yekaterinburg and entered the Ural Musical College in the class of docent Svetlana Onuchina. During her time at the college, Daria became a laureate of numerous solo and chamber music competitions: – First prize at “Traditsiya i Sovremennost” (Tradition and Modernity, Saint Petersburg, 2012), – First prize at “Nadezhdy Urala” (The Hopes of Ural, Yekaterinburg, 2013), – First prize at the international “Bravo” competition (Nessebar, Bulgaria, 2013), – Third prize at “Molodye Talanty” (Young Talents, Ufa, 2014), – Second prize and special award for Best Romantic Performance at “Uroven Masterstva” (Level of Mastery, Yekaterinburg, 2014), – Second prize (first prize not awarded) at the Vladimir Bobylyov International Violin Competition (Ryazan, 2014), – Grand Prix for string quartet at “Tutte le corde” (Yekaterinburg, 2017). She was also a winner of the “Reka Talantov” (River of Talents) project in Saint Petersburg (2014). In 2017, Daria entered the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in Moscow, where she studied with Professor Alexei Koshvanets and later with docent Elisaveta Trushina. She continued into the Master's program under Professor Marina Keselman and graduated in 2023. During her studies in Moscow, she also received: – First prizes in the “Muzyka. Talant. Otkrytie” (Music. Talent. Discovery) string quartet competition in Suzdal (2019, 2021), – First prize in “Chto Ostavilo Nam XX Vek” (What the 20th Century Left Us) for her performance of Boris Tchaikovsky’s string quartets (Moscow, 2021), – Second prize at “Iskusstvo Ansamblya” (Art of Ensemble, 2021). She has performed as a soloist with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Samara State Philharmonic under Anatoliy Levin, with the Nizhny Novgorod Philharmonic under Alexander Skulsky, and in concerts with Anton Shaburov and Wolf Usminsky. Daria has participated in numerous festivals and projects such as “Night of Music", “Art-Start: Young Russia”, and the Moscow International Festival in Memory of Maya Glezarova (2022). She has attended masterclasses with Rollo Kovac, Alexander Spirov, Alexei Koshvanets, Mark Danel, Mikhail Gantvarg, Alisa Margulis, Alexandr Trostyansky, Mikhail Katz, Ksenia Bashmet, Oleg Bugaev, Julia Sakharova, Pinchas Zukerman, Sean Lee, the Isidore String Quartet, and the Faure String Quartet. From 2021 to 2023, Daria worked as a violin teacher, conductor of a student string ensemble, and artistic director of the symphony orchestra at the A. B. Goldenweiser Children’s Music School in Moscow. Currently, Daria is pursuing a Performance Diploma at the Meadows School of the Arts (Southern Methodist University, USA). Over the past academic year, she became a finalist of the Concerto Competition, won the Honors Concert auditions in two different chamber ensembles, and performed in all concerts of the contemporary music ensemble SYZYGY. She also participated in a collaborative project with the Dallas Symphony Chorus, and served as concertmaster in a production of Don Giovanni with Opera Arlington. In July 2025, Daria won the First Prize (Grand Prize) as part of a piano trio at the Chicago International Music Competition.
