Miss Jiaqi began studying piano at the age of six. Currently, she is pursuing her degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Music Theory with the related field in Piano Pedagogy at the University of North Texas. She also teaches aural skills courses at the undergraduate level as a teaching fellow at UNT. As a passionate and dedicated music instructor, she has taught piano, music theory, aural skills, and music appreciation courses for 8 years. She strives to provide excellent communication skills while maintaining the fun and relaxed teaching approaches. The range of ages of her students is from preschoolers to adults. The students she teaches have achieved outstanding results in competitions, as well as distinguished grades in the ABRSM and RCM piano and music theory examinations. Education Background and Certificates: B.A. in Musicology and Piano Pedagogy from China Conservatory of Music, Beijing, China M.A. in Music Theory and Piano Pedagogy from Kent State University, OH Visiting Scholar at College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, OH PhD student in Music Theory with the related field in Piano Pedagogy at University of North Texas, TX DipABRSM Instrumental Teaching (Piano) In her free time, she loves to practice yoga and Pilates. She is also a sports fan who loves to watch NBA and European soccer games.
